MS Office 365 or O365 just launched as release version this month. Software plus service which previously has name BPOS (Business Productivity Online Standard Suite) now has come to full Office apps on the cloud. You also may notice that previously exist MS Office Live which was free services and now has been discontinued as O365 launched.
O365 consists of Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Lync Online (previously Office Communications Online and Office Live Meeting), Office Professional Plus (same as Office Pro 2010), Office Web Apps (edit MS Office document on the web).
Unlike software Office 2010, O365 come with month to month subscribe licensing plans: professionals and small businesses, midsize businesses and enterprises (consist: Kiosk or K Plan and Enterprise or E Plan), also education plan. You may compare subscibe O365 vs Buy Office 2010.
Interesting fact is midsize businesses and enterprises for E3 & E4 plan come with Office Pro Plus which is same as Office Pro 2010, you still get the Office as desktop software, so you may upgrade Office 2003/2007 to O365 without any doubt.
And how to utilize O365 service for external apps? Let’s find out later.
